Nora Edington writes emotional, sometimes steamy romances filled with heartache, healing, and hard-won happily ever afters. She’s passionate about second chances, layered characters, and stories that make readers feel deeply. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her somewhere quiet — book in hand, music playing, maybe with her fingers in the soil. A firm believer in the magic of love (and the power of good coffee), Nora is always dreaming up her next romance.

Excerpt from the book “It Was You: Lily’s Story” by Nora Edington

“What do you mean you’re married?” Her voice rose to a shriek, and pretty much every person in the restaurant turned toward their table.

Her boyfriend Tony smiled apologetically at them and then moved his gaze to her. His washed-out blue eyes penetrated her soul with an icy glare. “Try to be quiet, Lily,” he said, lowering his voice. “You know how much I hate theatrics.” He reached for her hand lying on the table; his grip wasn’t gentle at all. “No drama, okay?”

She gasped. Theatrics? She was being dramatic? She tried to pull her hand away, but he wouldn’t let her. Her voice came out like the low hissing of an angry cat. “You lied to me.”

“And I’m sorry about that,” Tony replied. He softened his tone, but his eyes remained cold. “I love you, Lily. You know I do.”

His words disarmed her. Love? What kind of love was this? Predictably, her eyes welled up with tears. Great. Now she was showing her weakness to him. She held her tears back, concentrating on Tony’s arm and the reddish hair covering it.

“Nothing has changed between you and me.” Tony’s voice reached her again.

Her head jerked up, and her eyes widened in disbelief. “You’re married.”

“So what?” he asked with a smile. “Oh, don’t look at me like that with your big blue eyes. My marriage to Nancy is just a formality. We don’t even sleep together anymore.”
